This photo was taken in Gurunagar, around sunset when some fishermen were returning back from a long day. Gurunagar (Thamizh: குருநகர்) is a coastal village in Jaffna city in Northern Sri Lanka. It is also known as Karaiyur (Thamizh: கரையூர்). The suburb is mainly populated by Catholic Thamizhs, engaged in sea activities. I loved how close-knitted and protective they seemed of their community. I truly hope we see more of this unity worldwide.
